Results in accurate detection of cough quantification using sensors

Coughing behavior is associated with conditions such as sleep apnea (OSA), asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and can severely impact the quality of life of those who suffer from it. In this context, quantifying cough is often important but is routinely performed using questionnaires. This study sought to determine whether a set of sensors, excluding microphone recordings to respect privacy, can accurately and unobtrusively detect coughs, and what the relative importance of each sensor type might be in model performance.
