El síndrome de superposición alternativo (aOVS), la coexistencia de asma bronquial y apnea obstructiva del sueño (AOS), representa un fenotipo clínico distinto asociado con peores resultados clínicos, pero aún se sabe poco sobre sus características. El objetivo de esta publicación que comparto fue investigar las diferencias en la estabilidad del sueño y la carga clínica entre pacientes con AOS y aOVS emparejados por edad, sexo, IMC e índice de apnea-hipopnea (IAH).

Alternative overlap syndrome (aOVS), the coexistence of bronchial asthma and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), represents a distinct clinical phenotype associated with worse clinical outcomes, but little is known about its characteristics. The aim of this publication, which I am sharing, was to investigate the differences in sleep stability and clinical burden between patients with OSA and aOVS matched for age, sex, BMI, and apnea-hypopnea index (AHI).
