Using the AirwayGym app for the rehabilitation of patients with OSA: validity of the results from one year to date

A year ago we published a commentary on a manuscript published by Bui-Diem et al., which raised some questions regarding the use of mobile apps to benefit patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). In that commentary we highlighted how our group designed an app called Airway Gym to treat OSA. This app promotes proprioceptive rehabilitation and coordination of the airway muscles. In addition, it includes nine exercises based on myofunctional therapy aimed at improving the tonicity of the various muscles involved in the pathogenesis of OSA. The results of this app continue to be positive and we suggest it to our patients for the autonomy and agency it gives them in their recovery.
