Prevalencia de la AOS en pacientes adultos con bronquiectasias

La apnea obstructiva del sueño (AOS) ha sido escasamente caracterizada en pacientes con bronquiectasias. Esta revisión sistemática que comparto determinó la prevalencia de la AOS —confirmada mediante polisomnografía— en pacientes con bronquiectasias asociadas a fibrosis quística y en aquellos sin dicha asociación. Una búsqueda exhaustiva en las bases de datos MEDLINE, EMBASE y Cochrane identificó estudios observacionales que informaban sobre la prevalencia de la AOS confirmada por polisomnografía en pacientes adultos con bronquiectasias.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has been poorly characterized in patients with bronchiectasis. This systematic review, which I am sharing, determined the prevalence of OSA—confirmed by polysomnography—in patients with bronchiectasis associated with cystic fibrosis and in those without this association. A comprehensive search of the MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases identified observational studies reporting on the prevalence of polysomnography-confirmed OSA in adult patients with bronchiectasis.
