The association between statin use and the development of diabetes in patients with hypertension and OSA

Continuous statin use in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and hypertension increases the risk of diabetes, according to data published in Diabetology and Metabolic Syndrome. In recent studies, statins have shown a possible increased risk of diabetes, according to the authors of this article. However, there are data suggesting a possible decrease. I am sharing this study in which researchers conducted a longitudinal study to determine the association between statin use and the development of diabetes in patients with hypertension and OSA.
