Insomnia may affect daytime sleepiness reported by OSA patients

The following research concluded that insomnia can significantly affect self-reported daytime sleepiness in patients with OSA. It is suggested that assessment of insomnia symptoms and characteristics (e.g., using the ISI) should always be performed in patients with OSA who report daytime sleepiness. These preliminary findings are proposed to be validated in larger and more diverse cohorts of patients with OSA.
