Machine learning applied to the detection of biomarkers related to obstructive sleep apnea and diabetes mellitus

The pathophysiology of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and diabetes mellitus (DM) is still unknown, despite clinical reports linking the two conditions. After investigating the potential roles of DM-related genes in the pathophysiology of OSA, the study I am sharing with you aimed to investigate the molecular significance of the condition. Machine learning was a useful approach to understand complex gene expression data to find biomarkers for the diagnosis of OSA. The conclusions reached are quite interesting.
