El pliegue diagonal del lóbulo de la oreja (PDL) (signo de Frank) es un pliegue con un ángulo aproximado de 45°, que se extiende diagonalmente desde el trago hasta el borde del pabellón auricular a diferentes profundidades. En este estudio se examinó la relación entre el síndrome de apnea obstructiva del sueño (SAOS) y el PDL. Según los resultados obtenidos en esta investigación, el signo de Frank puede utilizarse como un nuevo hallazgo en la exploración física para el diagnóstico del SAOS. Asimismo como resultado, se considera que puede servir como marcador en la evolución clínica de la enfermedad.

The diagonal earlobe crease (DAC) (Frank’s sign) is a crease with an approximate 45° angle, extending diagonally from the tragus to the edge of the auricle at varying depths. This study examined the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and the DAC. Based on the results obtained in this research, Frank’s sign can be used as a novel finding in the physical examination for the diagnosis of OSAS. Furthermore, it is considered that it may serve as a marker in the clinical course of the disease.
