Es muy importante la publicaci\u00f3n de las nuevas gu\u00edas de la American College of Chest Physicians (D’Ambrosio et al., 2026). Durante la gestaci\u00f3n, la AOS suele infravalorarse a pesar de sus importantes riesgos materno-fetales. Esta norma cl\u00ednica destaca la necesidad de tamizar a las pacientes embarazadas mediante cuestionarios espec\u00edficos o est\u00e1ndar, y confirmar el diagn\u00f3stico con estudios de sue\u00f1o (HST o PSG) cuando existe riesgo. Asimismo, recomienda tratar activamente a las gestantes que presenten un \u00edndice de apnea-hipopnea (IAH) mayor o igual a 15, o con IAH entre 5 y 15 que tengan s\u00edntomas o comorbilidades. Este consenso marca un hito crucial para integrar el bienestar respiratorio en la salud materno-infantil y nos invita a reflexionar sobre la importancia de una v\u00eda a\u00e9rea funcional. Aunque el soporte continuo de presi\u00f3n positiva (APAP) sigue siendo la recomendaci\u00f3n de primera l\u00ednea durante la gestaci\u00f3n, comprender el tono muscular y la din\u00e1mica far\u00edngea nos permite ofrecer una evaluaci\u00f3n anat\u00f3mica detallada y un seguimiento posparto adecuado. Abordar el control neuromuscular de forma temprana no solo alivia los s\u00edntomas inmediatos, sino que sienta las bases para una recuperaci\u00f3n integral del patr\u00f3n respiratorio tras el parto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
