Hoy se dan innovaciones tecnol\u00f3gicas para la apnea obstructiva del sue\u00f1o (AOS), y este nuevo metaan\u00e1lisis sobre la estimulaci\u00f3n del nervio hipogloso (HNS) resulta sumamente interesante al confirmar una tasa de \u00e9xito del 74% en pacientes que no toleran el CPAP. Sin embargo, este dispositivo implantable \u2014que no deja de ser una intervenci\u00f3n quir\u00fargica con un 5% de tasa de revisi\u00f3n y una notable heterogeneidad en sus resultados\u2014 busca lograr mediante impulsos el\u00e9ctricos exactamente lo que la terapia miofuncional propone de manera activa, natural y no invasiva: tonificar y coordinar los m\u00fasculos dilatadores de la v\u00eda a\u00e9rea (como el geniogloso) para evitar su colapso durante el sue\u00f1o. Aunque la estimulaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica es una valiosa herramienta para casos seleccionados de alta complejidad, sigo convencido de que la reeducaci\u00f3n neuromuscular a trav\u00e9s de ejercicios miofuncionales espec\u00edficos es la alternativa biol\u00f3gica m\u00e1s segura, accesible y fisiol\u00f3gica para fortalecer la garganta desde adentro, garantizando un descanso reparador libre de cirug\u00edas e implantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
