Se estima que en Espa\u00f1a entre un 5% y un 10% de la poblaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda sufrir apnea obstructiva del sue\u00f1o (AOS). De ese porcentaje de poblaci\u00f3n, los estudios apuntan a que un 60% no estar\u00eda diagnosticado, lo que implica que solo en Espa\u00f1a alrededor de dos millones de personas podr\u00edan convivir con este trastorno sin recibir tratamiento para el mismo. La apnea obstructiva del sue\u00f1o no tratada se relaciona con un incremento exponencial de desarrollar y sufrir patolog\u00edas cardiovasculares y cerebrovasculares, diabetes tipo 2 o deterioro cognitivo. Cada vez m\u00e1s estudios realizados en diversos pa\u00edses y continentes apuntan tambi\u00e9n a una estrecha relaci\u00f3n entre la AOS y el c\u00e1ncer.

It is estimated that in Spain, between 5% and 10% of the population may suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Of this segment of the population, studies suggest that 60% remain undiagnosed; this implies that in Spain alone, approximately two million people could be living with this disorder without receiving treatment. Untreated obstructive sleep apnea is linked to an exponential increase in the risk of developing and suffering from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, or cognitive decline. An increasing number of studies conducted across various countries and continents also point to a close link between OSA and cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
