La apnea obstructiva del sue\u00f1o (AOS) residual se define como la persistencia del IAH en \u22651 evento respiratorio por hora de sue\u00f1o tras una intervenci\u00f3n <\/a>otorrinolaringol\u00f3gica en la poblaci\u00f3n pedi\u00e1trica. En cuanto a los fenotipos de AOS en ni\u00f1os, se distinguen los fenotipos com\u00fan, adulto y cong\u00e9nito. En este estudio que comparto se concluye que existe un mayor riesgo de AOS residual en ni\u00f1os con fenotipo adulto. Adem\u00e1s se plantea la fenotipificaci\u00f3n de ni\u00f1os con AOS como una herramienta importante para el manejo posterior y para predecir la gravedad de la AOS residual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residual obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is defined as the persistence of an AHI of \u22651 respiratory event per hour of sleep after otorhinolaryngologic intervention in the pediatric population. Regarding OSA phenotypes in children, common, adult, and congenital phenotypes are distinguished. This study, which I share, concludes that there is a higher risk of residual OSA in children with an adult phenotype. Furthermore, phenotyping of children with OSA is proposed as an important tool for subsequent management and for predicting the severity of residual OSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
