Advance approved in research on the hypotonic phenotype in sleep medicine
We are pleased to share that the Malaga Research Ethics Committee has issued a favorable report for the project entitled:
"Validation of the OMES questionnaire against objective measurement of oropharyngeal muscle tone with the IOPI manometer, the Sandway manometer, and a digital spoon."
This study, which emerged as an original idea from our team, will be developed within the framework of Dr. Eduardo Correa's doctoral thesis, with the aim of facilitating the diagnosis of the hypotonic phenotype using more accessible and reproducible tools than the current standard IOPI.
The validation of devices such as a home digital manometer and an electronic spoon could represent a turning point in the early detection and personalized treatment of sleep-disordered breathing.
We are committed to useful, accessible science that provides real clinical value. Keep going!
